EDITORIAL INTRO FOR ISSUE 208

“New sites, services and apps fly through our RSS readers and we barely have time to process them”

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” An insightful and wise man once uttered those words to me in my youth, and they’ve stuck with me ever since. (Actually, maybe it was Ferris Bueller, but hear me out.)

Despite the fact that the web didn’t even exist when these words were spoken, they seem particularly well suited to the medium. New sites, services, apps, and stories fly through our RSS readers, and in some cases we barely have time to process the information before we move on to the next item.

Web design is no different. It’s this pace of development that makes our industry so exciting, but it’s also easy to feel the need to try and excel in every area: a Sisyphean task. Yet – as illustrated by the biographies of our contributors – you may be better identifying the areas where you excel, immersing yourself in those given subjects, and keeping up with other areas via your peers and publications like .net. Enjoy this issue!
